The Critical Care Course covers an extensive range of critical care topics and skills, including but not limited to:

  • Airway Management: Techniques and equipment for advanced airway management, intubation, and cricothyrotomy.

  • Ventilation: Operation, management, and troubleshooting of mechanical and noninvasive ventilators.

  • Vascular Access and Monitoring: Insertion and management of arterial lines, central venous catheters, chest tubes, and introduction to hemodynamic monitoring.

  • Procedure Skills: Escharotomy, operation of cardiac assist devices, intracranial pressure monitoring, and more.

  • Medical Devices: Use and troubleshooting of various devices such as infusion pumps, temperature-monitoring probes, and pacemakers.

  • Patient Care: Insertion and maintenance of tubes, use of obstetric and ultrasonography equipment, and infectious disease precautions.
